Talanoa Hufanga enjoyed a successful return to the field for the San Francisco 49ers last weekend, impressing in their blowout win over the Chicago Bears.
But it has not been a good year for his alma mater, USC, with a 6-6 regular season for the Trojans capped by a defeat to Notre Dame on rivalry weekend.
That meant a painful forfeit for Hufanga, who had a wager on the game with left guard Aaron Banks, a former Golden Domer.
Hufanga made good on the bet on Wednesday, facing the media in the locker room in a Notre Dame jersey and helmet.

As part of the wager, Hufanga was forced to say that his kids would be attending Notre Dame at some point and that it is "the best university in the nation", the All-Pro safety making his pain at uttering those words apparent throughout.
Hufanga revealed that, had USC pulled off the upset over No. 5 Notre Dame, Banks would have had to walk around the locker room in a leprechaun outfit complete with handcuffs.
Having been robbed of the opportunity to see Banks on the wrong end of the bet, Hufanga will have to console himself with cheering against the Fighting Irish when they start their College Football Playoff campaign against No. 8 Indiana.
Banks is safe regardless of the outcome of that matchup, as the 49ers do not have a former Indiana player on the roster with whom he could make another bet.
