5 Best Wide Receivers in Rams History

A 1983 second-round pick, Ellard tallied 593 catches for nearly 10,000 yards during his 11 years with the Rams. He made three Pro Bowls and two All-Pro teams, the second instance coming when he led the league with 1,414 yards in 1988.

Ellard trails only Bruce and Holt on the Rams’ all-time receiving yards list as of publishing, and he’s fourth in catches.

4. Cooper Kupp (2017-2024)

By this point, you’re familiar with Kupp and what he brought to the Rams.

His 2021 season, where he totaled 145 catches for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns, ranks among the greatest receiving seasons we’ll ever see.

Oh, and he had 33 catches, 478 yards, and six touchdowns over four playoff games, helping the Rams to their first Super Bowl title in over 20 years.

Kupp was at his best in the Super Bowl, catching eight balls for 92 yards and two touchdowns en route to earning Super Bowl MVP honors. He ranks third in catches and touchdowns on the Rams’ career list, and his 7,776 yards are fourth.

3. Elroy Hirsch (1949-1957)

Hirsch was incredible throughout his time in Los Angeles, averaging over 20 yards per catch in three of his nine seasons. "Crazy Legs" was instrumental during the Rams’ 1951 championship run, hauling in 66 catches for 1,495 yards and 17 touchdowns. 

When you think of deep threats, don’t sleep on Hirsch, whose 18.2 yards per reception ranks 25th all-time among qualified players. He remains one of only five Hall of Famers to average at least 18 yards per catch.

2. Isaac Bruce (1994-2007)

Honestly, Holt and Bruce are fairly interchangeable here. You could successfully make the case for either receiver, but we’re going with Bruce for the No. 2 spot here, and by no means is that a bad thing.

The “Greatest Show on Turf” is one of the greatest offenses we’ll ever see, and Bruce had eight 1,000-yard campaigns in 14 seasons with the Rams.

Voters elected Bruce to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020, and he joined former offensive teammates Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, and Orlando Pace in Canton. As for Holt…

1. Torry Holt (1999-2008)

By no fault of his own, Holt has become one of the most underappreciated players in post-merger history. The No. 6 overall pick in 1999, Holt burst onto the scene with 52 catches, 788 yards, and six touchdowns for the Super Bowl champions.

From there, he immediately grew into one of the NFL’s elite receivers, averaging 95 catches, 1,385 yards, and eight touchdowns from 2000 to 2007.

Somehow, he’s still not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
