Aaron Donald's lawyer: Video proves Rams star didn't commit assault

Los Angeles Rams star Aaron Donald was accused of assault earlier this week, but the defensive tackle's lawyer, Casey White, said Friday that there is video proof his client did nothing wrong.

White said on 93.7 The Fan that Donald attended a party last Saturday and that the man accusing him of assault, DeVincent Spriggs, was escorted out after allegedly jabbing Donald in the back. White added that Donald and his brother encountered Spriggs outside the party and that Spriggs swung a bottle at Donald's head.

Video of the incident and witnesses confirm this, according to White.

"He actually saved Mr. Spriggs from further injury," White said, according to Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "It's fantastic, from a defense attorney's perspective, to be honest with you."

White also read an email from the Pittsburgh Police Department saying that video evidence shows no sign of Donald assaulting Spriggs. If that's the case, no criminal case against Donald will move forward.

Earlier this week, the Rams said they were "collecting more information" about the alleged assault.
