Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers came into “Monday Night Football” knowing they needed a crucial win against the Miami Dolphins to strengthen their hold atop the AFC North after the Baltimore Ravens’ 24-0 shutout of the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
Pittsburgh delivered exactly that, defeating Miami 28-15 at Acrisure Stadium in a game that bolstered their divisional standing and kept their playoff hopes intact for now. Rodgers completed 23 of 27 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns in the victory, an efficient performance that helped the Steelers secure consecutive wins for the first time since October, and continue a 23-game MNF home win streak.
Rodgers’ performance featured several standout moments, including touchdown passes of 19 yards to Marquez Valdes-Scantling and 28 yards to DK Metcalf, which helped put the game out of reach in the second half. The performance reaffirmed how Rodgers, who turned 42 earlier in December, remains one of the league’s most efficient and cerebral quarterbacks, a reputation he has upheld almost throughout his 21 seasons in the NFL.
Monday’s outing also vaulted Rodgers into exclusive NFL history. According to OptaSTATS, he became the oldest starting quarterback in NFL history to complete at least 85% of his passes in a game, a remarkable feat for the four-time league MVP.

His two passing touchdowns also marked the 166th game in his career with multiple passing TDs, moving him past Peyton Manning (165) for the most such games in NFL history behind only Drew Brees (173) and Tom Brady (204), per the league.
Through Week 15, Rodgers has continued to defy Father Time, compiling 2,594 passing yards, 22 touchdown passes, and just seven interceptions, with a 66.8% completion percentage, which ranks him 11th among starting quarterbacks this season. Though not a statistical runaway MVP favorite, he has elevated a Steelers offense that has been a major driver for the team this season.
But his job is not finished. Despite the win, the Steelers (8-6) still face a challenging path to the playoffs. They control their own destiny in the AFC picture and likely need to win out to fend off the Ravens (7-7), who are currently outside the postseason field but closing the gap with three games remaining, with the two teams slated to meet again in the season finale.
Next up in Week 16, the Steelers will travel to face the Detroit Lions (8-6), another contender aiming for postseason positioning. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday, with the game airing on CBS.
