Aaron Rodgers expects decision on future after four-day 'darkness retreat'

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said he is going to take some time to himself in the coming weeks to help come to a decision on his future.

And not just time to himself, but also time in the darkness.

Literally, darkness. All of the darkness.

During his weekly appearance on the Pat McAfee show on Tuesday, Rodgers said that following the Super Bowl he is going to spend four days at a "darkness retreat."

During that time he will spend four days and four nights in total darkness and isolation for what is basically a sensory deprivation isolation. That can also lead to hallucinations.

When Rodgers comes out of that he feels he will be in a better place to make a decision on his future.

For pretty much any other quarterback (or player) in the NFL this might seem like a really random thing to talk about, let alone do, but this just seems like business as usual for Rodgers in recent years.

The 39-year-old Rodgers is again the subject of trade rumors this offseason as his future with the Packers remains in doubt.
