Aaron Rodgers reveals post-retirement plans

The Pittsburgh Steelers made the somewhat unpopular — but necessary — decision to carry four quarterbacks on their roster.

Aaron Rodgers won't be back after this season, and they're still on the fence with youngsters Drew Allar and Will Howard, whereas Mason Rudolph is their only proven backup.

Rodgers has already made it loud and clear that he doesn't intend to return after the 2026 season. And while some might still hold out hope that he pulls a Tom Brady, it looks like he's already made up his mind.

In an interview with Adam Schein for Mad Dog Sports Radio, the former MVP revealed how eager he was to walk away from the game and start a family, even vowing to stay hidden from the public eye.

Aaron Rodgers plans to become a father and lay low

“I’m hopefully going to be supporting my pregnant wife because we’re going to start a family and I am not going to be making a lot of appearances or statements,” Rodgers told Schein. “And I’m looking forward to a life of quiet after 22 years in the pros and three in college and getting my body healed up and working on a family. That’s what I’m looking forward to.”

That means a lot coming from someone who made weekly appearances on "The Pat McAfee Show" and seemed to enjoy sharing incendiary takes about everything.

That said, he's also dealt with a ton of scrutiny, more for his demeanor off the field than for his legendary career, and he's a human first and foremost, so he might also be done with that.

Everything surrounding Rodgers' wife has been rather mysterious; her identity remains unknown. That's a personal decision and everyone must respect that. If anything, he might be practicing for when the family gets bigger and he doesn't want any outsiders to know what he's up to.
