After an offseason full of rumors surrounding Aaron Rodgers, the Pittsburgh Steelers were finally able to get a deal done with the future Hall of Fame quarterback.
Rodgers agreed to a one-year contract, which has confirmed will be his final season in the NFL. He will be making his farewell tour with one of the most storied teams in league history.
Despite the media being torn between liking and disliking Rodgers, it will be sad to see one of the active legends of the game walking away from the NFL.
Leading up to him finally signing with the Steelers, fans and the media waited for what seemed like ages to get a final decision. At times, no one knew whether he was still interested in signing with Pittsburgh or if he would hold out for another team.
While he took his time coming to a decision, Rodgers has now revealed a new detail that shows how interested he was in the Steelers all along.
During an appearance on the "Pat McAfee Show" on Tuesday, Rodgers opened up about his process during free agency. He revealed that he had spoken with Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin every single week leading up to his final decision to sign.

Even though fans didn't know whether he would be the Steelers' quarterback or not, Rodgers was clearly focused on Pittsburgh. He simply wanted to get through the other things going on in his life to get to a point where he could be all-in when he signed.
Now, he's focused on preparing for his final NFL season. There would be no better way to ride off into the sunset than by winning a Super Bowl.
It was made clear by signing Rodgers that the Steelers only have one goal this season. They want to win a championship.
Having Rodgers in town will also help develop rookie quarterback Will Howard. Rodgers also spoke out about the young signal caller when chatting with McAfee.
“I wanna help Will Howard as much as possible," Rodgers said. "If I can help him become a better player that would be an incredible achievement. He’s such a good kid and I’m really looking forward to helping him out this season."
