The Pittsburgh Steelers’ season took a bit of a tough turn last week as quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with a wrist injury and did not return for the entire second half. It turned out that he fractured his left wrist, but he is going to attempt not to miss any games and play this week. While we are still a few days away from possibly learning his status, let’s take a deeper dive into what Rodgers’ status is and what he wants to do this week.

Aaron Rodgers Looking to Participate in Thursday’s Practice

On Wednesday, Aaron Rodgers did not practice, but he talked to reporters and mentioned how he wants to be on the field on Thursday for practice. He also reveals when the injury happened and how he wanted to call another play before eventually leaving the game. Rodgers also mentioned he is doing a lot of rehab on the fractured wrist and was grateful to get that chance on Wednesday to help heal the injury.

“We’ll try to get back on the field tomorrow and see what we can do… The second-down play is when it happened. I was in a lot of pain, we were late in the play clock. I called timeout and came over. I felt like I could go one more play and then went in and got it checked out.”

Rodgers would continue to discuss how he and the Pittsburgh Steelers are working on getting a brace for his left wrist. He still needs to get medically cleared by the team doctors because it is more about the safety of the veteran quarterback than just pain tolerance. It will be intriguing to see if Aaron Rodgers is able to be under center for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.
