Bills

Rams LT Alaric Jackson was suspended for throwing a punch at Bills EDGE Bradley Chubb following Week 5’s game, and some suggested Chubb made comments about Jackson’s mom. Chubb made it clear it was purely on-field trash talk, and said his comments were focused on the team giving Jackson help to avoid leaving him one-on-one against Chubb.

“I’ll tell you exactly what I said,” Chubb said, via ESPN’s Nick Suss. “I’ve heard I was talking about his mom. That’s not true at all. I said, ‘We’re gonna see y’all’s ass again. And when we see you again, all that chipping ain’t gonna save you. That tight end and guard is not going to save you.’ He said, ‘What’d you say?’ I said, ‘That chip’s not gonna save you. The guard’s not gonna save you.’ And then boom.”

Jets

  • Per ESPN’s Rich Cimini, Jets S Minkah Fitzpatrick said he was fined for his hit on Browns WR KC Concepcion and it wouldn’t say how much, but he’s trying to get it reduced: “It was a football play, in my opinion. Obviously, we don’t like to see anybody get hurt. I’m happy to see that he’s back out practicing this week. But in my opinion, it was a football play, a bang-bang play.”
  • Jets HC Aaron Glenn said WR Adonai Mitchell (hand) underwent a “small procedure,” but he is moving his fingers well, per Zack Rosenblatt.
  • Glenn added that Mitchell is still considered week-to-week.
  • Glenn also mentioned that RB Breece Hall (quad), G Dylan Parham (knee), and EDGE Joseph Ossai (ankle) are still week-to-week with their injuries, per Connor Hughes.
  • Rosenblatt notes first-round TE Kenyon Sadiq is still in the league’s concussion protocol.

Patriots

  • Patriots OC Josh McDaniels said the team is making contingency plans in case WR A.J. Brown doesn’t play in Week 6: “Would we know how we’re going to go ahead and play the game or use those packages if he doesn’t make it? Yes, we have already talked about that, and the guys are studying both ends of the spectrum. And I’d say that’s a credit to the guys because you you talk about Chiz, Kyle, Romeo, Pop, Eli, Hunter. They all know multiple positions, and that’s a great strength of our group in that we have some versatility.” (Doug Kyed)
  • Brown said it’s up in the air if he’ll play this week, according to Mark Daniels.
  • Patriots LT Will Campbell (knee) said he will do “some stuff” in Wednesday’s practice and is hopeful to play in Week 6: “Just building up throughout the week. See what happens.” (Doug Kyed)
