Dolphins QB coach Bush Hamdan feels QB Malik Willis is still developing as a starter and thinks he needs to work on finding the right time to make a play happen instead of just living to see another down.

“We all want this to be a straight line of perfect development — but there’s gonna be ups and downs. I just keep going back to his athleticism; at times it’s a superpower and at times, trying to make all those extra plays is something you’ve got to be aware of,” Hamdan said, via Marcel Louis-Jacques.

Jets

Jets WR Garrett Wilson is in his fifth year and still seeking his first winning season with the organization. Wilson feels like this is the season they finally put things together.

“We’ve been building the village for four or five years now,” Wilson said, via Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. “It’s about to be done, and that’s just the way I see it. This is the year we finish it.”

Wilson reflected on their Week 5 win over the Browns, saying the joyous reaction from teammates and staff members is “what it’s all about.”

“Man, that’s why we’re so sick when it doesn’t go that way,” Wilson said. “Coming out on top and seeing all the guys in here after — not just the guys on the team, the staff, everyone that put their effort towards this win. It’s what it’s all about.”

Jets OC Frank Reich compared Wilson to a “masterpiece of art” that they want to keep going back to.

“If it’s a masterpiece of art that you’re looking at, if it’s a true masterpiece, you kind of keep coming back and looking at it, and you see it and appreciate different aspects of it every time you look at it, and you see something different,” Reich said. “So, for me and for us as a coaching staff, it’s been fun to watch and see. But also to learn to try to figure out, ‘Oh, he can do this, he can do that. How do we fully utilize the things that he can do?’”

• Jets HC Aaron Glenn said RB Breece Hall (quad/thigh) did not practice Wednesday, while WR Adonai Mitchell (finger) and G Dylan Parham (knee) participated in limited practice, per Zack Rosenblatt.
