Broncos

Broncos RB J.K. Dobbins expects to stay healthy for a full season and believes he can lead the league in rushing.

“I know a lot of people say, ‘Oh, he’s only good for the first 10 weeks of the season,’ I’ll be in the top three (in rushing) for the first 10 weeks,” Dobbins said, via Broncos Wire. “Forget about the top three… I’m going to be No. 1. I’m going to keep it there for the whole year.”

Dobbins said he is confident in his recovery from last season’s Lisfranc injury and vowed that Denver will not regret bringing him back.

“I’m not going to let them down,” Dobbins said. “I pinky-promise y’all. I double pinky-promised them you won’t regret bringing me back… Remember this day!”

Chiefs

Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy‘s absence from the team continues after his 27-year-old son shot his wife at their home in Virginia at the end of last month, and he is virtually coaching as much as he can as his wife recovers from her injuries. Currently, there is no timeline for when he will be back with the team in person.

“Every organization and every team and every player and each position group — everyone needs a kick in the ass,” GM Brett Veach said of Bieniemy, via Jesse Newell of The Athletic. “And so him being out there and hearing that voice, whether it be ‘Finish’ or ‘Alignment’ or whatever … he demands that you are buttoned up on your details, and that is a mirror image of coach and how he wants things run.”

“He just needs to take care of business there,” HC Andy Reid added. “And when he gets back here, he gets back here.”

  • Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes on Bieniemy’s absence: “Prayers to him and his family… We’ll be excited to get him back. But at the same time, we want him to take as much time as he needs to be with his family. When he gets back, he’ll be the most excited guy.” (Goldman)

Raiders

  • According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the Raiders don’t have a set date in mind for when they’d like to get first-round QB Fernando Mendoza in the lineup, and he was told they’d know it when they see it. Another factor is ensuring Mendoza has enough support from his supporting cast before being thrown into the fire, unlike recent No. 1 picks.
  • The Raiders expect RB Ashton Jeanty to be a bigger part of their passing game in 2026, per Graziano.
