After Legendary Offseason, Rams Still Not 'Most Talented Team'

General Manager Les Snead deserves an award for the talent he assembled this offseason, yet it wasn’t enough to top a certain list.

With the 53-man roster set heading into Week 1, Bleacher Report’s updated rankings of the NFL’s most stacked rosters have the Los Angeles Rams sitting third, behind the San Francisco 49ers and Houston Texans.

The Rams’ roster scored a 72.8 average, led by the No. 1 player on the Top 100 list, Myles Garrett, one of several standout players on the high-profile roster. The score reflects the team’s makeup before Aaron Donald’s return, since the three-time Defensive Player of the Year recently came out of retirement for the Rams’ 2026 Super Bowl push.

Garrett’s arrival was a blockbuster: the Rams traded a promising player, Jared Verse, to acquire the reigning holder of that award, who is coming off a season in which he broke the single-season sack record with 23. He is now the centerpiece of a Rams defense that also includes Donald, Byron Young, Kobie Turner and Braden Fiske, a group that could be the greatest front in NFL history.

The offense is equally dangerous. Reigning MVP Matthew Stafford looks just as sharp heading into 2026, backed by a deep group of pass catchers and running backs who helped make the Rams the NFL’s top offense in 2025. Even the roster’s biggest weakness, cornerback, which cost the Rams down the stretch, including the NFC Championship Game, was addressed with the additions of Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson.

Add it up, and the Rams are the most hyped team in some time, with betting odds putting them first, well ahead of the Texans and 49ers.
