The New Orleans Saints are signing All-Pro kicker Daniel Carlson, his agents confirmed Monday to NFL Network.

Carlson, 31, has spent the majority of his eight-year NFL career with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders.

He led the NFL in field goals made (40) and attempted (43) in 2021 and converted a career-long 60-yarder in 2025.

The Saints have been holding a competition between kickers Charlie Smyth and Tanner Brown in training camp.

Carlson, a fifth-round pick by Minnesota in the 2018 NFL Draft, played two games for the Vikings as a rookie before being released that September and linking up with the Raiders the following month.

His career accuracy rate on field goals of 86.9% (225 of 259) in 129 games ranks 10th all-time. The 2022 All-Pro first-team selection has made 95.7% of his extra points (244 of 255).
