There’s a quiet power shift happening among NFL wide receivers, and this week an AI bot stirred the pot with its rankings.
As training camps intensify and preseason games commence, the timing feels right. The bot, known as Grok, featured on social media site X, dropped its list of the top 10 wideouts heading into the 2025 NFL season. It has already sparked debate.
Sitting at No. 1 is Cincinnati Bengals star Ja’Marr Chase, followed by the Minnesota Vikings' Justin Jefferson, Dallas Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb, Philadelphia Eagles' A.J. Brown and Detroit Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown rounding out the top five.
These names are no surprise, but their 2024 stats and current camp momentum show why they’re leading the conversation as the new season approaches.
Chase led the NFL in 2024 with 1,708 receiving yards, 127 receptions and 17 touchdowns. His chemistry with Joe Burrow was on full display as the Bengals' offense returned to elite form late in the season.
Chase’s route precision, burst after the catch, and red-zone dominance made him nearly impossible to contain. He also led all wide receivers in fantasy points per game in full PPR (point-per-reception) formats.
Now in training camp, Chase has looked even sharper, reportedly building on that production with increased work from the slot. The Bengals have been vocal about using him in more creative alignments, which could make his 2025 ceiling even higher.
He enters the year not just as the top wideout, but possibly the most dangerous offensive player in football.
Jefferson returned from a hamstring injury that kept him out of seven games last season to rack up 1,533 yards and 10 touchdowns on 103 catches, cementing his place as one of the game’s most polished technicians.
Lamb posted 1,194 yards and six touchdowns in 2024, continuing his role as the clear centerpiece in Dallas' offense. Early reports from Oxnard show him torching cornerbacks and developing even more chemistry with quarterback Dak Prescott.

Brown crossed the 1,000-yard mark for the fifth time in his career last season and enters 2025 motivated to make the Philadelphia Eagles back-to-back Super Bowl champions.
St. Brown rounds out the top five, and the 25-year-old is coming off 1,263 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Detroit Lions. His elite short-area quickness and relentless work ethic make him a nightmare on third downs.
One interesting inclusion was Stefon Diggs at No. 9. Coming off an ACL injury-shortened season with the Houston Texans, Diggs has the career resume of a top 10 receiver. However, he'll face new challenges leading the New England Patriots' offense and hoping second-year quarterback Drake Maye can continue his development.
With camps heating up, preseason games starting and Week 1 nearing, this group is setting the tone for what could be a historic season for wide receiver talent.
