AJ Brown Shares 'hilarious' Experience With Botafogo Players

Some NFL teams are sharing their training grounds with soccer clubs playing in the Club World Cup. One of them is the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Brazilian club Botafogo is training on their turf — and AJ Brown couldn’t miss the chance to talk with the players.

Brown has already shown his soccer fan side, attending the Flamengo vs. Chelsea match at Lincoln Financial Field last week. Most teams are already putting in the work for the new season, with specific training for certain players — and Brown is one of them.

During a Botafogo training session at the Eagles’ facility, AJ Brown walked onto the field to talk with some of the players. Even though he doesn’t speak Portuguese, a staff member helped him engage in conversation. What was supposed to be a pep talk ended up turning into a hilarious moment.

In an Instagram post, AJ Brown shared the story of an Eagles staff member telling the Botafogo players that Brown can run 40 yards in 4.2 seconds — something AJ himself knows is a total lie.

"So I’m out here talking to the players or whatever, trying to. They speak Portuguese, and one of our staff guys is talking to them. They’re talking about how fast they run, and this guy says he’s the fastest. So our guy starts talking about AJ — how fast AJ is. He’s like, “AJ run a 4.2, 4.3… 4.2." I’m looking like, “4.2? Man, I ain’t never run a 4.2 in my life, or a 4.3.” But hey, the whole time I’m over there like, “Hype me up, hype me up!” It was so funny, but I was just like," I did run 23 miles per hour… but 4.2? Nah.”

For references purposes, at the 2019 NFL combine, AJ Brown ran the first 40-yard dash in 4.57 seconds. The second one he landed a perfect 4.5 seconds.

AJ Brown hinted a post NFL retirement plan in the post

Along with the video about the hilarious situation and a couple of photos with Botafogo players, AJ Brown hinted what he could do after he's done with the NFL. In the post, he wrote: "Wassup guys! The entire team was very nice. They even let me play keeper (ps I’m good at everything, of course) but I had a lot of fun and I may have found my next sport after football and my experience was hilarious."

Brown would not be the first person to switch sports to soccer after he's done. In 2018, the legendary track and field athlete Usain Bolt made his first appearance as a soccer player, playing for the Central Coast Mariners in Australia. He's career was brief.

Harry Kane also shown interest in playing in the NFL as a kicker once he's done with soccer. The former Tottenham Hotspurs players, and now main striker on Bayern Munich, has a couple of clips on the internet showing his finish power with a football.
