It's called the diva position. NFL wide receivers... Philadelphia Eagles fans have used the term. We've heard it in other cities. What can we say? Some guys helped the narrative along.
We won't go so far as to add a list of names. Instead, we'll say this. Some of the more colorful stars in NFL history have played the position at a high level.
When we talk about some of the most memorable personalities, we can't do so without mentioning Chad Johnson, Keyshawn Johnson, Brandon Marshall, and Antonio Bryant.
Sheesh... Antonio Bryant...
Do we bring up Andre Rison or mention Terrell Owens doing sit-ups in his driveway? Can we tell the NFL story without these personalities? As far as we're concerned, they added to the game in their own way. and we appreciate all of their contributions.
A.J. Brown has been mislabeled too many times to mention, but a recent interview featuring the Eagles star should clear up all of the confusion.
Why are we discussing diva wide outs you ask? It's simple. They don't bother us at all. Give us a star talent at the position who talks the talk and walks the walk any day. What? Do we want receivers who don't want the ball.
As seasons have passed, we've grown tried of this erroneous categorization of Philly's All-Pro wideout A.J. Brown. His teammates love him and defend him. So do his coaches. As long as that's the case, we could care less about what people outside of the Birds locker room are saying.
Recently, he caused quite a stir by expressing himself on his Instagram account.
Yeah... Again, we don't get it. As far as we're concerned, this is the type of hunger we'd expect of a team captain.
Oh, wait... A.J. Brown is a team captain.
If this is a 'diva'. If this is what we'd label as 'selfish', we'll take ten more on the 2025 Eagles roster. If Philly had three A.J. Brown clones on the offensive side of the ball, they'd be set up to run the table for the next three NFL seasons.
