CBS Sports’ writer, David Cobb recently released a list of college football coordinators poised to become head coaches, and he listed Alabama offensive coordinator, Ryan Grubb, in his list.
Grubb is returning to college football to lead the Tide’s offense after a year in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks. He is joined on the list by Brian Hartline of Ohio State, Tim Banks of Tennessee, Andy Kotelnicki of Penn State and Chris Hampton of Oregon.
Alabama football’s wide receiver, Ryan Williams recently discussed why he is excited to play under Grubb during an interview with Jon Gruden.
“It makes you learn the game because it’s more pro-style, just us breaking from the huddle and you have to fully understand the entire play,” Williams said. “You can’t just be like ‘okay, this only applies to me.’ In order to truly understand the play, you got to understand every part of it.”
Grubb is tasked with designing an explosive offensive attack with Williams and other weapons at his disposal.
