Alabama football continues to rotate at multiple positions on both sides of the football, and a position where the Crimson Tide has consistently rotated throughout the season, along its offensive line, is at right tackle.
Wilkin Formby and Michael Carroll have both played meaningful snaps at the position, despite Formby starting every game. The competition at the position remains ongoing with both of them expected to continue to share time.
The Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb discussed what he is looking for out of both players on Monday.
“Consistency is the biggest thing from both of them,” Grubb said. “Different vantage points for both guys, but I think consistency is one of the biggest parts. Obviously, with good offensive line play, there’s no plays off. You going to be on the back side of the route or something like that. We just got to have more consistency at that spot. So it is Michael having a full grasp of the offense or Wilkin executing at his highest capability. We just got to have better consistency at that spot.”
Alabama football allowed four sacks in its win against the Missouri Tigers on Saturday. Better offensive line play has to continue to be a focus for the Crimson Tide moving forward.
