Alternate Angle of Morice Norris Injury Is Hard To Watch

Detroit Lions' second-year safety Morice Norris suffered a scary head injury during Friday's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons.

The incident occurred at the start of the fourth quarter when Norris was attempting to tackle Falcons running back Nathan Carter.

With Norris' head dipping low, he ended up hitting Carter's thigh area. The collision sent the 24-year-old to the ground. After seeing no movement from Norris, a stretcher was quickly brought out before an ambulance took him off the field.

Now, a new video showing a different angle of the incident further highlights how hard the collision was. In the clip, it can be seen how Norris' head snapped back after seemingly being hit by Carter's knee.

The fall didn't help, as it clearly shook Norris' head even more.

Play stopped after the incident as medical personnel addressed Norris' injury. Players from both teams also gathered around to show their support for the injured player. Eventually, the game was officially suspended after both teams ran out the clock.

In a statement after the game, Falcons coach Raheem Morris revealed that he and Lions coach Dan Campbell agreed together to let the clock run out. He added that he's not thinking right now about whether or not the league will be upset with their decision.

"I don't know. It's not in my thoughts right now. My thoughts are about Morice Norris and his family. That's all," Morris shared, per Falcons reporter Tori McElhaney.

In an update by the Lions, the team noted that Norris "has been transported to a local hospital for further evaluation."
