Since Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett issued a statement making his trade request public on Monday morning, the Detroit Lions have been among the teams tied to potentially acquiring him. A deal to get him automatically feels unlikely on its face for the Lions, but they are in a position to consider bold moves. Failing to at least getting involved in conversations with the Browns about Garrett would border on malpractice by general manager Brad Holmes. Name a team they are competing with among the best teams in the league (or division rivals), and they will surely at least make a call to Browns general manager Andrew Berry. On the "Rich Eisen Show" Tuesday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero suggested it could be a while before anything happens as long as the Browns maintain their stance about not trading Garrett.
