Amon-Ra St. Brown’s internet-breaking moment is now part of a balanced breakfast

On a typical college football Saturday in November, two FCS opponents faced off in a regular-season contest that no one outside of the fanbases gave any attention to. But after a third-quarter 50-yard receiving touchdown from Jalen Walthall, the internet would get its moment.

After the score, Walthall commemorated his score with one of the most legendary touchdown celebrations... ever. After crossing the plane, he immediately put himself into a perfect, pencil-like headstand, helmet and all—inspired by none other than Stomp the Yard. He got penalized for the move because fun, but it became a viral overnight success.

Enter Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

St. Brown clearly caught wind of the video and vowed that if he scored that following Sunday, he'd pay homage to Walthall with a headstand celebration. Well, what do ya know? On the first play of the second quarter against the Packers, St. Brown got his touchdown, cemented with the captivating headstand celebration.

Falcons receiver Drake London technically started the NFL knock-off version first (1:00 pm slate games, while Lions were the 4:00 pm), but his form was wonky.

Amon-Ra St. Brown's electric headstand celebration lives on in bowls of cereal

St. Brown's celebration was electric. Could he have stayed up in the headstand a bit longer... maybe. But I'm no gymnastics judge. So we give it an 8.5 and we move on. The viral sensation had its moment in internet lore, but to say it's making a comeback in a big way would be an understatement.

With his partnership with General Mills cereal, St. Brown's iconic headstand will be literally eaten up across America this fall. Honey Nut Cheerios is putting the star receiver on boxes in his rebranded iconic "Honey Handstand" pose in his new cereal-inspired uniform:

Being on a cereal box as an athlete is one of the coolest accolades to receive. Sure, the MVPs, All-Pro honors, and Pro Bowl nods are great, but a cereal box cover is unique.

“Growing up, I never would have thought I’d be on a cereal box, and I had a blast recreating my headstand for Honey Nut Cheerios — the OG cereal for me,” Amon-Ra St. Brown said.

Never say never.

St. Brown isn't the only star receiver appearing on cereal boxes coming to a grocery store near you... Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase are, too. Appearing on Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Lucky Charms, respectively.

What started as a spontaneous nod to a viral moment has officially gone from end zone to the cereal aisle. St. Brown turned a headstand into a highlight, then into a headline, and now into a household breakfast item. Not bad for a touchdown celebration.
