Aaron Rodgers emerges from darkness retreat

Aaron Rodgers has emerged from his darkness retreat.

According to ESPN's Xuan Thai, the four-time MVP quarterback spent the past "several days and nights" at Sky Cave Retreats -- which is located on hundreds of acres of forested land in southern Oregon -- before leaving the dark room and facility on Wednesday. Per Thai's report, the owner of the facility -- Scott Berman -- the rooms on site are 300 square feet and are partially underground "devoid of light, with a queen bed, a bathroom and a meditation-like mat."

"It is fully powered, and the lights can be turned on from inside the room," Thai wrote.

Rodgers appeared on "The Pat McAfee Show" last week and said that he planned to spend four days and four nights on his darkness retreat and upon his return to society, was hoping to "have a better sense of where I'm at in my life." From a football standpoint, the retreat would figure to help him in his decision as to whether he'd retire, return to the Green Bay Packers or look for a trade.

The New York Jets have been among the most heavily rumored potential new teams for the 39-year-old. The Jets' hiring of former Denver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett as their new offensive coordinator last month only upped the chatter on Rodgers' possible trade to New York, as Hackett worked as the Packers offensive coordinator for both of the signal-caller's most recent MVP campaigns.

Rodgers is under contract with the Green Bay for $59.465 million guaranteed if he plays in 2023.
