Dolphins' Tyreek Hill spars with Usain Bolt on social media as to who is faster
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Usain Bolt is the most decorated Olympic sprinter of all time.  The Jamaican sprinter shattered world records and racked up gold medals over three Olympic games in one of the most awe-inspiring runs in track and field history during his prime years.

However, the star runner is now 37 years old.  And the question was raised between former NFL stars Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco who would win today between Bolt and Tyreek Hill in the 100-yard dash.

Sharpe's position was clear: Cheetah.

"Probably Tyreek.  Usain Bolt probably has not run since he retired, since he last ran the 2017 world championship in which he won the bronze.  So I'll take Tyreek.  If you asked me in his prime when he was training."

Ochocinco chimed in there: "it's not even close."

While Sharpe would take Hill, today, over Bolt, the latter responded on Twitter/X disputing the Pro Football Hall of Famer's take.

Of course, Hill, being the alpha and the competitor that he is, issued a playful public challenge to the legendary sprinter on Saturday night in response.

That would certainly be an interesting matchup nowadays, given Bolt's natural decline to some degree at the age of 37.  However, in his prime, Sharpe and Ochocinco are right about the Jamaican lightning bolt.  Bolt won eight gold medals combined in the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympic Games.  He set records, which still stand, in the 100- and 200-meter dash.  He's unquestionably the fastest man on the planet for a decade.

But Hill, even at 30, is no slouch himself nowadays as far as speed.  It would be an interesting matchup to see between the two in 2024.

Given how unpredictable Hill is, who knows?  Perhaps a meeting on a racetrack is in the cards for the duo sometime in the future.
