Madden 21 rookie WR ratings: Henry Ruggs tops class with 98 speed

The Madden video game ratings are no joke, and they're highly anticipated each year ahead of the game's release. While they already announced the ratings for rookie quarterbacks, Madden 21 announced the ratings for rookie wide receivers on Friday.

A majority of the rookie ratings don't stand out, though Las Vegas Raiders rookie WR Henry Ruggs topped the 2020 class with a 76 overall rating and a whopping 98 speed.

Here's how the remainder of the ratings shake out:

  • Henry Ruggs (Raiders): 76 overall, 98 speed
  • CeeDee Lamb (Cowboys): 75 overall
  • Jerry Jeudy (Broncos): 75 overall
  • Justin Jefferson (Vikings): 74 overall
  • Jalen Reagor (Eagles): 73 overall
  • Brandon Aiyuk (49ers): 72 overall
  • Laviska Shenault (Jaguars): 72 overall
  • Devin Duvernay (Ravens): 72 overall
  • Michael Pittman (Colts): 71 overall
  • Tee Higgins (Bengals): 71 overall
  • Chase Claypool (Steelers): 70 overall
  • Denzel Mims (Jets): 70 overall
  • K.J. Hamler (Broncos): 70 overall

According to ESPN's Field Yates, the only player to have a higher speed rating in last year's version of the game than Ruggs is Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill, who was given a 99.

Other notable ratings for Ruggs include a 97 acceleration rating, 83 catch rating and 94 jumping.

Lamb, ranked second behind Ruggs, has a higher strength rating (69), agility rating (90), awareness rating (76) and catch rating (84).

Only QB and WR ratings have been released, though Ruggs' 76 rating is the highest among rookies, along with Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow who also is rated at 76.
