NFL Week 9 best teaser

We've hit back-to-back weeks on our NFL best teaser, and for the first time this season, we're looking to make it three in a row. And similar to last week where we put our faith in two teams that have had success on the spread and vs. the total points, we're going to do the same this week.

Atlanta is tied for the best record against the spread at 6-2, and with Tua Tagovailoa back under center for the Dolphins, and the Bears no longer with Roquan Smith and Robert Quinn on defense, expect some points to be scored between Chicago and Miami.

The Falcons may no longer be perfect against the spread and 0-2 ATS in back-to-back weeks, but with Mike Williams out for the Chargers, and Keenan Allen questionable after re-aggravating his hamstring injury during the bye week, don't be surprised if LA's offense struggles on Sunday against Atlanta. The Chargers have had injuries like no other this season, and it's made things a lot more challenging for head coach Brandon Staley and quarterback Justin Herbert. And with defensive back J.C. Jackson done for the season, the Chargers defense just took a major hit.

Los Angeles hasn't won a game by more than a field goal in over a month, and even if they win on Sunday, don't expect it be by more than seven. Atlanta might get running back Cordarrelle Patterson this week, and even if they don't, the Falcons are tied for the best record in the NFL against the spread. On top of that, the Falcons lead the NFC South by a game, and a win this week would be huge. Not only could it put Atlanta two games ahead of everyone else in the division, it would also put them above .500. At home against a Chargers team that has struggled to win by more than a field goal as of late, Atlanta by nine via the teaser is 100% the way to go.

As for the final leg of our teaser, take the over 39.5 points via the teaser between the Dolphins and Bears. Chicago traded defensive end Robert Quinn last week, and earlier this week the Bears traded Roquan Smith to the Ravens. The Bears gave up 49 points last week to Dallas with Smith, and don't be surprised if the Miami hangs 30+ on Chicago without Smith at middle linebacker. The Bears are clearly rebuilding, and the Bears defense is in big, big trouble till the NFL draft.

Justin Fields and the Bears offense have actually looked like an NFL offense over the last two weeks, and if one positive thing can be said about the Bears, it's that Fields is getting better each week. And the addition of Chase Claypool should only make the Bears offense better, which should lead to more points. And as long as Tua is starting for Miami, they're capable of scoring 30 at ease. Taking the over of 45.4 points is a good bet, but with the teaser lowering the total points to 39.5, this becomes a no-brainer.

The Teaser: Atlanta Falcons (+3) to (+9) and Miami Dolphins/Chicago Bears (over 45.5 points) to (over 39.5 points) (-120 odds via Barstool)
