Week 11 AFC East predictions: Bills' Josh Allen breaks out of his funk against Jets

For the second consecutive week, every AFC East team that played failed to win a game, but with one divisional matchup slated for Sunday, perhaps one of them will snap their slump. Here are predictions for the AFC East in Week 11:

Las Vegas Raiders (5-5) at Miami Dolphins (6-3): The Raiders look like a different team under interim HC Antonio Pierce, winning their last two games with the defense spearheading the turnaround, allowing just one touchdown in that time. However, those wins came against the two New York teams, both of which rank in the bottom three in points per game. While the Dolphins have temporarily earned themselves the "pretender" label, they're still the league's top offense and well-equipped to overwhelm the Raiders defense.

After scoring just 14 points against the Kansas City Chiefs during their Week 9 clash in Germany, the Dolphins offense should be able to regain its momentum at home. Miami is first in the NFL in home points per game (43.5) and hasn't scored fewer than 31 points at Hard Rock Stadium this season. Additionally, the Dolphins have a built reputation for dismantling teams that do not have winning records, scoring 39 points per game against such opponents. 

Miami officially controls its own destiny in the AFC East race. Regardless of the Raiders' turnaround, the Dolphins aren't going to squander this opportunity, especially since a loss coupled with a New York Jets win over the Buffalo Bills would set up a Week 12 showdown for the division lead. 

PREDICTION: Dolphins, 31-17

New York Jets (4-5) at Buffalo Bills (5-5): This is a season-defining matchup for each team, as the Jets and Bills, both losers of their last two, have been spiraling and are on the outside looking in at the playoffs. Both offenses are stumbling, but in different ways, with Buffalo's unit struggling with turnovers, while the Jets haven't found the end zone in 11 consecutive quarters. 

Although Jets HC Robert Saleh has assured that he won't make any changes at quarterback or to the team's play calling, Buffalo decided it needed to shake things up. In the aftermath of Monday's crushing 24-22 loss to the Denver Broncos, the Bills fired OC Ken Dorsey, replacing him with quarterbacks coach Joe Brady. Despite ranking eighth in scoring, it was a necessary move, as Buffalo is second in turnovers (18) and continues to open games slowly, averaging the fourth-fewest first-half points per game since Week 5 (seven), per ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg. 

New York's defense, which allows the sixth-fewest yards per game (307.8), has caused trouble for Allen — the league leader in turnovers (14) — in the past, most recently in Week 1's 22-16 thriller. Nevertheless, it still took four turnovers from Allen in that game to allow the Jets to win on a walk-off punt-return TD in overtime. Given the urgency the Bills are operating at, along with the Jets' offensive woes, expect Allen and company to prevail in what is perhaps their hardest-fought win of the season.
