Analyst points out disturbing trend with 2024 Raiders

Outside of Brock Bowers’ incredible rookie season, there is little reason to look back fondly on the 2024 Las Vegas Raiders.

Injuries to key players such as Maxx Crosby and Christian Wilkins, inconsistency at the quarterback position and the worst rushing attack in the league all combined to render the Raiders non-competitive at points. The team lost ten consecutive games before ultimately finishing the year with a 4-13 record. The struggles were enough for the Raiders to move on from head coach Antonio Pierce and general manager Tom Telesco after just one season.

As if that was not bad enough, an analyst has provided further context to detail the Raiders’ struggles.

The Raiders would like to reverse this trend from last year.

According to NFL analyst Warren Sharp, the Raiders were one of three teams last season to not win a single game without trailing. The other two teams were the New York Giants and Chicago Bears, who won a combined eight games in 2024.

With no convincing victories from last season, it was hard for the Raiders to get to their game at any point, resulting in the team lacking a clear identity.

That should hopefully change in 2025. Pete Carroll has been one of the best culture-builders of this century, and new additions such as quarterback Geno Smith and running back Ashton Jeanty should clear up some of the issues plaguing last season’s team. With Crosby back healthy, the Raiders should be clear in that department, as well.

If the Raiders continue to struggle despite these changes, there could be some serious questions that arise about this current group.
