It looks like Andrew Luck's new job is going to keep him in the spotlight significantly more than the previous five years since his early retirement from the NFL.

The former Indianapolis Colts quarterback is now the general manager of Stanford's football program and has found himself at the center of the college football world multiple times in the past week. Now, with the news that he is bringing a familiar face from his Colts days to Stanford with him to run their football program in 2025.

About a week after firing their head coach, Stanford and Andrew Luck are naming former Colts head coach Frank Reich as their interim head coach. Of course, the two know each other well from their time with the Colts. Reich was Luck's head coach for his final season in 2018, and the two became very close during that season.

Reich is helping Luck and Stanford by allowing them to push off their full head coaching search until after the 2025 season. He will bring his history as a player and coach in the NFL to Stanford and help be a stable leader with the season around the corner. With Stanford making the choice to fire their coach so close to the season, getting someone like Reich in an interim role is probably the best-case scenario they could have asked for. According to NFL Network's Tom Pellissero, Reich doesn't plan to interview for the full-time job at Stanford, so this is a true interim role at this time.

Colts fans will pay much closer attention to Stanford this upcoming season. We will see if this Colts reunion in California works out well for the Trees. It will also be interesting to see if Luck uses past relationships from his time playing for the Colts into his new role at Stanford. Just imagine T.Y. Hilton as a wide receivers coach, Jack Doyle as a tight ends coach, and Anthony Costanzo as an offensive line coach; the options are endless.
