The Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for another Super Bowl run, aiming to make their fourth straight appearance in the big game. After considering retirement following last season, tight end Travis Kelce is back for Year 13.

It’s still the offseason, and the Chiefs are holding mandatory minicamp this week. It began on Tuesday and wraps up on Thursday, with head coach Andy Reid speaking to the media during the session.

Reid commented on Kelce’s performance over the past several days and knows that the aging star’s body isn’t the same as when he first entered the league. Still, the 35-year-old has clearly shown he has plenty left in the tank, finishing the 2024-25 season with 97 receptions for 823 yards and three touchdowns.

Reid admitted he can sometimes "be the bad guy" when he pulls Kelce from practice reps.

Kelce is human, just like every other player, and is bound to make mistakes.

But with seven All-Pro selections, 10 Pro Bowls and over 12,000 receiving yards in his career, he’s proven himself as arguably the greatest tight end in NFL history—and shown the ability to limit those mistakes.

But for Reid, he’s just doing his job as a coach. The 67-year-old has been an NFL head coach for 26 years and is entering his 27th.

He spent the first 14 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and the rest with the Chiefs. Reid has won three Super Bowls, one AP NFL Coach of the Year award and three Sporting News Coach of the Year awards.
