Andy Reid Offers Key Injury Update on Isiah Pacheco Before Chiefs-Panthers Matchup

The Kansas City Chiefs suffered their first loss of the 2024 NFL season in a Week 11 matchup against the Buffalo Bills this past Sunday. In Week 12, the reigning Super Bowl champions will look to bounce back in a road matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

The Chiefs were initially expected to get a massive boost on offense for this Week 12 matchup, but the team will have to wait at least another week for the return of running back Isiah Pacheco.

On Friday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed that Pacheco will be out for Sunday's matchup against the Panthers.

Pacheco suffered a fractured fibula in the Chiefs' Week 2 win over the Cincinnati Bengals and has not taken the field since. Kansas City responded to Pacheco's injury by picking up veteran running back Kareem Hunt, who's been solid in his role as the Chiefs' starting RB.

“He’s a spark plug, emotionally; he’s something that way, and he’s worked his tail off to get to the point he’s at now. We’ve got to keep an eye on him that way,” Reid told reporters of Pacheco earlier this week. “He would’ve played three weeks ago if he had his choice, but that’s sometimes how it goes. I appreciate that, though, that mentality. That’s what’s helped him get to this point.”

Following Sunday's Week 12 matchup against the Panthers, the Chiefs have a short week before they face off against the Las Vegas Raiders in a Week 13 contest the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Sunday's game will kickoff at 1 p.m. EST from Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium.
