Anthony Bradford Gives Seahawks Contract Extension Update

We’ve heard Macdonald praise Bradford on multiple occasions and indicate that, by their metrics, he’s a very good player. While that doesn’t necessarily guarantee they view him as a long-term part of their roster, it certainly opens the door to the possibility. If they do, better to extend him now, at a cheaper rate, before he has what will likely be his best season.

All Quiet On The Bradford Front

However, according to the man himself, the Seahawks haven’t yet opened the door on the conversation. On 93.3 KJR Radio, Bradford said that the team hasn’t discussed a new contract with him yet, which would pretty strongly indicate that they intend to go into the season with things as they are. Bradford, for his part, sounded enthusiastic about a long-term deal.

“There’s nowhere else I would rather be,” he said. “I feel like my heart and soul is in Seattle. I feel like I am a Seahawk.” Bradford has played a lot of football for the Seahawks over the last three years, including 98% of the regular season snaps in 2025. He’s certainly justified in feeling like a Seahawk. But that’s no guarantee of a commitment in a salary cap league.

The Likely Outcome

The Seahawks are focused on extending superstars like Devon Witherspoon and Leonard Williams . They’ve already extended Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Charles Cross, and Abraham Lucas. Extensions for players like Byron Murphy, AJ Barner, Grey Zabel, Nick Emmanwori, and Sam Darnold are coming up. The books have to be balanced.

That balancing act is a big reason why the team allowed contributors like Ken Walker, Coby Bryant, and Boye Mafe to leave in the offseason. I would certainly group Bradford in with a group like that as opposed to the above one. You have to have your priorities in line. And while I don’t dislike him, I’d be hard pressed to consider Anthony Bradford to be a priority.
