Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray Expected to Move up on Franchise All-Time List in 2025

The Arizona Cardinals are hoping that the 2025 NFL season will be a bounce-back one for them after missing the NFL playoffs for the fourth year in a row in the 2024 campaign.

The Cardinals were just 8-9 in 2024, finishing just third in the NFC West division standings. For what it’s worth, that’s an improvement for the Cards, considering they won just four games in each of the two previous seasons.

If the Cardinals were to go places in 2025, dual-threat quarterback Kyler Murray would likely have a big role in that, as he remains the team’s number one option under center.

Murray is looking to recapture the form that made him a two-time Pro Bowler earlier in his time in the NFL. He earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2020 and 2021, but his form has since dropped, in large part because of injuries. Although he played in 17 games in 2024, inconsistencies on the field plagued the former Oklahoma Sooners star signal-caller, who was also the first pick overall in the 2019 NFL draft.

Provided that Murray will not miss significant time in 2025 and that he plays up to par, he can be expected to move up to the No. 2 spots on the Cardinals’ all-time passing yards list and all-time passing touchdowns list in the upcoming season, as noted by Jess Root of Cardinals Wire.

Murray will have to pass for at least 3,274 yards to surpass the current No. 2 Neil Lomax. Moreover, 22 passing touchdowns will be enough for Murray to pass Lomax as well in the No. 2 position of that particular stat.

In 2024, Murray threw for 3,851 passing yards and 21 touchdowns on a 68.8 percent completion rate.
