The Mercedes-Benz Stadium is set for a name change this NFL offseason, although things will be back to normal by the start of the beginning of the season.
For now, though, the massive Mercedes-Benz emblem will remain covered.
The venue will be referred to as the “Atlanta Stadium” for a few months to accommodate the inbound 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Sports’ biggest spectacle is returning to the United States following a successful Club World Cup on American soil in 2025.
It means that some NFL stadiums will have different names for the duration of the tournament. They will also have real grass, which will, unfortunately, revert to artificial turf once the soccer is done.
FIFA revealed its strict list of demands several months ago, noting that all venues must conceal any branding to remain compliant with sponsors.
The Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium will be known as the “Dallas Stadium” for the purpose of the exercise. The MetLife Stadium, the home of the New York Giants and Jets, will host the final on July 19.
As such, it’s going to be “New York New Jersey Stadium.”
The Athletic previously reported that the Mercedes-Benz Stadium would be allowed to keep its logo, but only the one on the retractable roof.
They couldn’t figure out how to hide the huge star without making a mess.
“Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium came to an uncomfortable conclusion this winter: it couldn’t figure out a way to cover the massive Mercedes-Benz star on its eight-piece retractable roof without risking significant damage,” the report reads.
“So, after roughly 18 months of discussions, FIFA agreed to let the stadium leave its roof as is, according to multiple people briefed on the situation,” it adds.
The other logos are apparently fair game.
A FIFA spokesperson said the governing body wouldn’t comment on specific arrangements with individual stadiums.
