The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had one of the best offenses in football last season, with Baker Mayfield at the helm.
Equally adept at slicing defenses through the air or on the ground, the Buccaneers could do it all, and that was largely down to the play of their offensive line for giving Baker time to throw, and opening up running lanes. Oh, and let's not forget, all five starters are returning in 2025.
With weapons that are the envy of the league, many are expecting Baker to have a superb season again, and for NFL Analyst Mina Kimes, when speaking on the Mina Kimes Show with Ryan Clark, the pair ranked Tampa Bay at No. 12 in their power rankings, with Kimes having glowing words about the Buccaneers offense.
“I really like betting on teams with elite offensive lines and the Bucs, going back and watching the Bucs offense, holy smokes, the offensive line was playing really well,” Kimes said. “Like, oh, can Baker Mayfield do it again? Yeah, because he's in one of the best situations in football, and we don't really talk about that enough.”
It's hard to argue with that.
The Buccaneers' offense on paper has the potential to be one of the best, if not the best, in football.
Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Jalen McMillan, Emeka Egbuka, and Cade Otton as the passing options, plus Bucky Ivring and Rachaad White as the running back duo, behind a stout offensive line, it is all there for Baker to let it rip.
Of course, there are skeptics over whether or not Mayfield can withstand another coordinator change with Josh Grizzard replacing Liam Coen, however, Baker has skins on the wall in the past two seasons, which suggests he'll handle the change.
And if he can, coupled with the weapons at his disposal, maybe Mayfield being in the "best situation in football" will produce tangible results.
