There are many questions to answer by the Baltimore Ravens in the coming 2025 NFL season. There’s one about whether they have what it takes to finally overcome their playoff obstacle. They have an incredible and elite quarterback in Lamar Jackson and great pieces on offense, but those have yet to translate into a Super Bowl parade in downtown Baltimore.
The Ravens added a new receiver in the offseason, who could help them get to the top, as they inked veteran DeAndre Hopkins to a one-year, $5 million contract last March.
Hopkins is already 32 years old and will be 33 on Friday. It is safe to say that his peak is already behind him. But he could still contribute downfield as a field stretcher for the Ravens,
Baltimore wide receiver Zay Flowers still seems to believe that Hopkins can still make things happen.
“He still plays fast,” Flowers said about Hopkins during the OTAs (h/t Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic). “Everything he does is fast, and like I said, he’s a true vet. He does what he knows, he knows how his body feels and he goes. But he was moving, though. He had a little 20 (mph) on (the leaderboard). He had a good day.”
Hopkins’ time in the NFL as a player is closing, and this stint with the Ravens could be his last serious push to win a Super Bowl. He nearly reached the pinnacle of team success in the league in the 2024 NFL season when he was with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, but they were crushed last February by Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.
So far in his pro career, Hopkins, taken 27th overall by the Houston Texans in the 2013 NFL draft, Hopkins has 12,965 receiving yards and 83 touchdowns on 984 catches through 178 games.
