The Chicago Bears appear to be all-in on the 2026 NFL season. Sitting at 5-2 and in second place in the NFC North, Chicago made a blockbuster trade for Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons. The Bears will now look to win their third straight game on Monday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks.
While the debut of Simmons will be something to watch, the play of second-year tight end Colston Loveland will be another storyline to monitor. Loveland endured a quiet start to the season, recording just five receptions through the team’s first three games. Since then, he has become a much larger part of Chicago’s passing attack.
Through seven games, Loveland has caught 26 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns. His best game came last week against the New England Patriots, hauling in seven passes for 69 yards and a touchdown.
With Cole Kmet out for the remainder of the season, Loveland could see an increased workload over the remainder of the year. However, his status became a slight concern ahead of Monday’s game. Loveland was limited in Friday’s practice before returning as a full participant Saturday.
Now, the Bears shared their latest injury report after Saturday’s practice. After Loveland was a full participant, he was not given a game-status designation for Monday night’s matchup with Seattle.

In a tight end room that has already lost depth, Loveland being on track to play is a relief, especially considering the strength of the Seahawks’ defense. Seattle’s defense has allowed 233.9 yards per game, the fewest in the NFL.
Averaging 390.7 total yards per game, good for third in the NFL, Chicago’s offense will be at nearly full strength for what could be their toughest test of the season.
