The Chicago Bears are all for their “Monday Night Football” showdown with the Seattle Seahawks. However, they announced unwanted news as they won’t be at full strength as several players are inactive, including Malik Muhammad.
Chicago is on a two-game winning streak and coming off a 30-24 win over the New England Patriots. Caleb Williams once again performed admirably, completing 22-of-33 passes for 308 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. It was his second game after missing the three previous matchups due to a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, Muhammad has been a key piece of the the Bears defense. He has appeared in all seven games so far this year, including four starts. The rookie cornerback has recorded 21 combined tackles consisting of eight assisted and 13 solo efforts. He also has five pass deflections, one sack and one interception under his name.
The Bears will not have Muhammad available on Monday. He is dealing with a toe issue and will miss his first game as a pro. Chicago released its injury report ahead of the matchup, which also includes other players who won’t suit up. Case Keenum, Kyle Monangai, Jordan McFadden, Jayden Loving and Jordan Van den Berg are all listed as inactive.

Tyrique Stevenson and Jaylon Johnson will likely benefit with expanded roles in Muhammad’s absence. They’ll need to step up as the Seahawks have a formidable offense led by Sam Darnold. Monday’s game is a big test for Chicago, especially because the home team is the defending Super Bowl champions.
The Bears are currently 5-2 for the season and third in the NFC North. They won the division last year with an 11-6 record and reached the Divisional Round. However, the team entered the campaign hungrier and looking to surpass its 2025 achievements. A Week 9 win will put pressure on the Detroit Lions to match it to not give up second place.
