Kyler Gordon has dealt with multiple injuries in the last two years, limiting his availability. He started this season on the on the PUP list due to a calf injury but was activated for the Chicago Bears’ clash with the Atlanta Falcons. The cornerback played admirably, and the team made an announcement about him after the 31-23 win.
Gordon entered the NFL as Chicago’s No. 39 overall pick in the second round in 2022. He starred for the Washington Huskies from 2018 to 2021, earning first-team All-Pac-12 honors in his last season with the program. The 26-year-old agreed to a three-year, $40 million contract extension in April 2025 but was placed on injured reserve in October 2025 and battled a groin injury throughout the campaign.
The Bears named Gordon as the Player of the Game on Sunday. He recorded three sacks, two forced fumbles and three tackles for loss, showing that he is back to full strength.
“Spidey’s back
,” the team wrote.

Gordon’s strong performance came on the day Caleb Williams also returned to action. The star quarterback missed the last three games due to a hamstring injury. He completed 30-of-36 passes for 305 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions. Chicago improved to 4-2 for the season and bounced back strong following last week’s loss to its rivals, the Green Bay Packers.
Next up for the Bears is a short week. They will host the New England Patriots on “Thursday Night Football” in what promises to be an exciting matchup. The visiting team have won its last three games and have the same win-loss slate as Chicago.
The Patriots will test Gordon and Co. with their formidable offense that has been scoring a lot this season. Amazon will broadcast the game live at 8:15 p.m. ET from Soldier Field.
