Bears Official Position for 2024 NFL Draft
Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bears lost to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday to close out the 2023 season. With Week 18 in the books, the Bears' position for the 2024 NFL Draft is official, and the speculation can begin, er, continue.

Chicago Bears 2024 NFL Draft Position

Thanks to the Carolina Panthers trading with the Bears for the first pick a year ago, the Bears own the Panthers' first selection in 2024.

Carolina finished with the worst record in the NFL, helping the Bears secure the first overall pick for the second consecutive year.

After finishing 7-10 on the season, the Bears' natural selection slightly improved. The Bears were projected to finish with the No. 10 pick, but Sunday's loss to Green Bay bumped Chicago up to No. 9.

The New York Jets helped by beating the New England Patriots in Week 18, solidifying their spot at No. 10 and the Bears at No. 9.

The 2024 NFL Draft is three months away and there will be endless speculation on what the Bears do. There are plenty of ways the Bears can navigate the high draft position, but one thing is clear: General manager Ryan Poles is in a great situation for the second straight year.

Whether Chicago trades the first overall pick for more picks and sticks with Justin Fields or uses the selection on a young quarterback remains to be seen. Either way, the Bears could look very different in 2024 depending on what happens this offseason.
