Bears Player Had 4-Word Reaction To Matt Eberflus Firing

The Chicago Bears finally sated their fans' anger at head coach Matt Eberflus by firing the man on Friday following his coaching malpractice in the final minute against the rival Detroit Lions yesterday. As it turns out, it's a decision that even the players seem to be rejoicing.

Bears safety Jaquan Brisker has been on X this morning taking some not-so-subtle jabs at his former head coach. He started the day by posting a cryptic laughing emoji with no context given. Though most assumed it was in response to Eberflus announcing that he believes he'll still be the head coach during his Friday morning press conference.

However, Brisker made it doubly clear that he's not going to miss Eberflus with the post he made just two hours later after the news of the firing was made public:

"God don't make mistakes," Brisker wrote.

Message heard loud and clear.

Fans are more than willing to acknowledge the firing of Eberflus in Brisker's comments even if he won't address it himself:

"But the McCaskey family does, they finally figured it out at least," one user wrote, referring to the owners of the Bears.

"Brisker tweeting through this is my favorite part of this. Came all the way back around on it. This is hilarious," wrote another.

"Players are openly rejoicing lmaooo," a third wrote.

It's one thing for a Bears fan to call out the head coach but it's very rare that a player is willing to do so. Things must have really been rough in the locker room if this is the kind of reaction that Eberflus' firing has created in Chicago.

Eberflus went 14-32 in three seasons with the Bears, with a 14-game losing streak between 2022 and 2023 marking the real low water mark of his tenure.

Given that the Bears had never fired a head coach in the middle of a season, many believed that the team would just run out the clock on Eberflus and fire him after the season. But the humiliation that the team endured on national television last night led the seemingly-patient Bears to make a change in the middle of the season.

Who will be the next head coach of the Bears?
