Chicago Bears star Caleb Williams made a surprising revelation about their head coach Ben Johnson and how he frustrates him.

Recently, Williams spoke to SiriusXM NFL Radio and was asked how Johnson pushes his buttons with verbal tactics and taunting.

“He knows I’m really competitive, and so he says things, and he’ll say things in our meeting,” Williams said. “He’ll bring up stuff for me that people have said about me or anything like that.”

The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft also mentioned that Johnson knows he’s meticulous with his craft, and Johnson continuously uses it against him.

“And he knows it gets me going. … On the grass, he’s not saying those things on the grass. It’s more he knows I wanna be perfect,” Williams continued. “I wanna be at my best, I wanna be the best, and so when I mess up, he gets on me, and it frustrates me. And being able to get frustrated and understand where to correct, but also I gotta cool back down and get ready for the next play.”

Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams says that improving each year with the team is the ultimate goal

Williams and Co. reigned as the top team in the NFC North with an 11-6 record. They also reached the Divisional Round but ultimately lost to the Los Angeles Rams.

But the superstar quarterback remains fixated on their ultimate goal by getting better every year through the hard work they put in.

“Yeah, that’s the plan each year,” he said. “Being able to come in and command more of the teammates, command more of myself first, you know, being on time, being here early, getting the work in, showing up, first it starts with that.”

Expectations are still high with the Bears next season, as they remain solid contenders to win the Super Bowl.
