The Chicago Bears have received standout performances from several players through the first seven weeks of the 2026 NFL season, helping them build momentum as they enter Week 8. While the team’s success depends on contributions across the roster, Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades offer a closer look at the individual players making the biggest impacts on both sides of the ball.
A defender leads the way for the second consecutive week, but he isn’t the only Bear earning high marks. From a defensive back making plays in his return to a pair of offensive linemen providing consistency up front, these five players have stood out in PFF’s grading system heading into the next stage of the season.
For the second consecutive week, Gordon remains the Bears’ highest-graded player. In his return in Week 6, he delivered a phenomenal performance and provided a massive spark to a defense looking to bounce back. He followed that up with another stellar outing in Week 7.
Against the Patriots, Gordon recorded two pressures, a sack, four tackles and five run stuffs while allowing zero yards in coverage.
Blackwell remains one of the Bears’ highest-graded players despite appearing on defense in just one game this season. The special teams ace has continued to make valuable contributions in that phase of the game.
Blackwell has recorded three total tackles on special teams this season.
Sewell hasn’t received as many defensive snaps this season, but he has delivered solid performances whenever the Bears have called upon him. That’s an encouraging development for the off-ball linebacker, who struggled during his first few NFL seasons.
Sewell recorded two pressures, two tackles and two run stuffs on Thursday night. That’s an impressive 2-2-2 performance for the rotational linebacker.
Wright has bounced back from a difficult Week 5 outing and delivered an outstanding performance in Week 7. The former first-round pick has emerged as one of the biggest hits of Ryan Poles’ draft tenure in Chicago.
Across 86 pass-blocking snaps over the last two weeks, Wright has allowed just one pressure. That’s elite-level offensive line play.
Jackson has remained a fixture on the interior of the Bears’ offensive line. He has played exceptionally well throughout the season, maintaining a high level of performance even when he hasn’t been fully healthy.
In Week 7, Jackson dealt with a hip injury but it didn’t stop him from putting on a strong performance. Jackson was docked for just two pressures across 39 snaps in pass protection.
