Although the Chicago Bears have Allen Robinson locked up for the 2021 campaign, they're still interested in adding another wide receiver.
According to The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs, the Bears have offered former Detroit Lions receiver Kenny Golladay a one-year deal worth somewhere between $11 and $12 million. They're trying to sell him on the idea of playing alongside Robinson as one of the NFL's top wide receiver duos, Biggs adds.
Robinson and Golladay would give Andy Dalton two solid targets. However, Golladay joining the Bears might not be very realistic based on the type of deal he's looking for.
According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, the 27-year-old is looking for a deal in the range of $18.5 million per year. This would mean he's looking for a contract worth a little more than market value. According to Spotrac, Golladay has a market value of $85 million over five years or $17 million annually.
If the Bears don't increase their offer, they could lose out on the Northern Illinois product. The Baltimore Ravens, New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals are reportedly among several other teams in pursuit of Golladay's services.
