Ben Roethlisberger says Steelers own this player

Two-time Super Bowl champion QB Ben Roethlisberger hasn't been shy in expressing his opinions on the Pittsburgh Steelers since retiring after the 2021 season, and that continued following another hard-fought win against the AFC North divisional-rival Baltimore Ravens in Week 5.

"[The Ravens] get first and goal on the four, and they can't score. Baltimore's supposed to be a running team that can get in," Roethlisberger said on his "Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger" podcast. "I feel like the Steelers have [Lamar Jackson's] number. It seems like every time they play him, Steelers just get the defense."

Some may disagree with Roethlisberger, but Jackson's statistics against Pittsburgh certainly support the former Steelers quarterback.

Jackson is now 1-3 vs. Pittsburgh with four touchdowns, seven interceptions and five fumbles in the four meetings.

Heading into the matchup, the Steelers were the only team against which Jackson has thrown more interceptions than touchdown passes in his career, per ESPN's Jamison Hensley. That remains true.

However, Baltimore's tough day on offense wasn't aided by its wide receivers either. The Ravens had seven drops on Sunday, per TruMedia, which is tied for the third-most by any team since 2013.

Nonetheless, Pittsburgh has now won six of the last seven matchups against Baltimore with the next game set for Week 18. There is still a lot of season left, but it could be for the division title depending on what happens the rest of the way.

Roethlisberger, who was 17-10 against the Ravens in his career, seems to have passed the torch to Kenny Pickett, who is now 2-1 against Baltimore. In his lone loss against the Ravens, Pickett exited the game in the first quarter with a concussion.
