Bengals' Chase Brown reveals big wish about uncertain future

The Cincinnati Bengals are coming off a disappointing season that they finished with a record of 6-11. That said, third-year running back Chase Brown was a bright spot for the Bengals as he enjoyed a career-best campaign.

Brown is currently on track to enter the final season of his rookie contract when the new league year opens in March. For a piece produced by ESPN's Ben Baby that was published on Wednesday, Brown made it clear that he'd like to commit his long-term future to the club that selected him in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Chase Brown hopes to be part of Bengals' plans

"I would love to do something and be a part of this team," Brown said about possibly signing an extension this offseason. "I don't want to go anywhere else."

ESPN stats show that Brown led the 2025 Bengals with 232 carries, 1,019 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns. He was second on the team with 69 receptions and third with 437 receiving yards. Additionally, he contributed five receiving scores.

"Experience always plays (a factor) and just getting more comfortable," Brown said about his overall production this past season. "And the coaches trusted me. More plays being called that are designed to go my way and allowed me to make more plays. That played a huge, huge part in it."

The Bengals' history of not offering under-contract players extensions may cause some to believe Brown will have to wait to get a deal done. That said, Cincinnati has locked quarterback Joe Burrow, wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase and wideout Tee Higgins down via extensions. It's also thought the Bengals will want to keep Burrow happy after he said earlier this winter that "something's got to change" for a franchise that missed the playoffs for the third time in three years.

Chase Brown believes in Bengals leadership

One thing that didn't change for the Bengals is head coach Zac Taylor and director of player personnel/de facto general manager Duke Tobin being employed by the organization. Brown seems to trust that Taylor and Tobin can help the Bengals right the ship.

"I know (Taylor) and (Tobin) and everybody that makes those free agency decisions and drafting decisions will have the right mind and make the right decision for the team," Brown said.
