Cleveland Browns have received a Christmas gift from a sender that you wouldn’t have guessed.
Two days before Christmas, the Cincinnati Bengals have done the Browns a solid. That solid was to lose in Week 16 to the Pittsburgh Steelers, now that it has happened both teams are 8-7 on the season.
If Cleveland can defeat the Houston Texans in Week 16, they’ll move two games ahead of the Bengals and Steelers in the Wildcard and AFC North at 10-5.
After taking a 34-11 thumping from the Steelers, the Bengals are now 0-5 against the AFC North this season. Cleveland can make them 0-6 on the season against the division in Week 18.
Cincinnati fell out of the Wilccard picture with the loss and the Steelers just took two bad losses before this win, so only the Browns and Ravens would be heading to the playoffs as of right now.
It hasn’t happened often in recent memory where the Browns have been able to separate themselves from the bottom half of the division with just a couple of games left. With this early Christmas present, they’ve done just that. It is now up to Cleveland to capitalize.
