The days leading up to training camp are when NFL teams learn which players are and aren't healthy enough to practice. The Cincinnati Bengals learned this about two of their players Saturday.
Cincinnati has placed tight end Erick All Jr. on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list, and center Seth McLaughlin on the Active/Non-Football Injury list.

Starting with All, the Bengals' fourth-round pick from the 2024 NFL Draft, it's no surprise for him to be placed on the PUP list. He suffered a torn ACL in Week 9 of last season, and he actually required two surgeries because it was the same ACL he tore a year prior when he was still in college. He played in nine games last year, catching 20 receptions for 158 yards.
Initial reports stated All was set to miss the entire 2025 season and make a possible return in 2026. Technically, a 2025 return is still in play for All since being placed on the Active/PUP list means he can come off it at any point leading up to the regular season, but don't expect that outcome.
McLaughlin also suffered an injury last year, a torn Achilles to be exact, but since it occurred when he was still in college at Ohio State, it's given a non-football classification. The rules are the same regardless, which means McLaughlin can be activated off the list at any point. It's a much more hopeful outcome than if he found himself on the Reserve/NFI list instead, which would've taken him out of commission for the remainder of the offseason and into the regular season.
McLaughlin was one of the Bengals' top undrafted free agent signings this offseason. He was considered a mid-round draft prospect before his injury, so Cincinnati made him a priority to sign when he was still available after the draft concluded.
All isn't in the 2025 plans, but if McLaughlin can return quickly during camp, he has an outside shot at pushing last year's seventh-round pick Matt Lee for backup center duties behind Ted Karras.
Veterans of Cincinnati's roster will report to camp on July 22, which could lead to more players being placed on injury lists. Camp officially starts July 23.
