Ja'Marr Chase is buying stock in Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. After Monday night's performance from the rookie quarterback, plenty of others are also making a beeline for the bandwagon.
Daniels led the Commanders to a 38-33 road victory over Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in dominant fashion. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft completed 21-of-23 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns while tacking on 39 rushing yards and one additional score.
Following the win, which moved Washington to 2-1 on the season, Chase gave Daniels his flowers, praising the rookie with a blunt statement, as Mike Petraglia of CLNS Media highlighted.
"He's a great [expletive] player, I'm not gonna lie," Chase said. "That was my first time sitting down and watching him besides the spring game, so he's a very outstanding player."
Daniels was elite while going toe-to-toe with Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and made NFL history in the process. His 91.3 completion percentage broke the NFL rookie record, previously held by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (88.9 percent).
The rookie showed incredible poise throughout the night, but there was no bigger moment than his 27-yard touchdown pass to Terry McLaurin on third-and-7 with 2:10 left in the game. The Commanders held a 31-26 lead, so a field goal would have kept the door open for the Bengals to force overtime, but Daniels made the throw of the night to the back corner of the end zone to seal the victory.

Through the early stages of a season that's featured some tough showings from rookie quarterbacks, Daniels has improved over each of his first three games from a passing standpoint. After Monday night, he boasts a completion percentage of 80.3 while totaling 664 passing yards, 171 rushing yards and five total touchdowns.
Although it's early in the year, it's safe to say the former Heisman Trophy winner is the front-runner for the 2024 NFL Rookie of the Year Award.
