The Cincinnati Bengals made six picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, three of which were on the defensive side of the ball.
The team's two highest picks, Shemar Stewart and Demetrius Knight Jr., have not been at rookie minicamp due to contract disputes. So there have been some other guys that have stepped up and taken a leadership role.
In a recent video posted by WLWT's Jaron May, former Clemson linebacker Barrett Carter can be seen being somewhat of a vocal leader. He also reportedly was at the front of the line for every drill.
The Bengals drafted Barrett with the 119th pick in the fourth round of the draft, which makes it even more impressive that he is stepping up the way he is. He does not care that he was picked on Day 3, he just wants to do what he can to show the team he means business.
Barrett finished his senior season with the Tigers with an impressive 82 total tackles, with 11 of them being for a loss. He was also able to show his versatility by racking up 3.5 sacks, as well as defending the pass with seven deflections.

With a few of the Bengals' high draft picks not showing up for rookie minicamp, Barrett is taking that time to prove that the team can get the same value out of a guy who was drafted three days later.
Stepping up in the way he has could prove to the Bengals that Barrett deserves a bigger role than the team was going to give him in 2025.
