The Cincinnati Bengals are watching Sunday's slate of games from home as they already won their Week 7 game Thursday . They'll face the New York Jets next Sunday, and the Jets decided to make a significant decision a week ahead of time.
New York benched starting quarterback Justin Fields for backup Tyrod Taylor. Fields was replaced by Taylor during halftime of the Jets' loss to the Carolina Panthers.
QB Tyrod Taylor is now in for the #Jets in place of Justin Fields to begin the second half.

Fields, who signed a two-year, $40 million contract to be New York's starting QB this season, completed 50% of his passes and threw for just 46 yards in the first half against Carolina. Taylor didn't exactly right the ship as he tossed two interceptions with a completion rate of just 45.5%.
Will the Jets stick with Taylor going forward, or will Fields retake his job in time before traveling to Cincinnati? It's become the biggest question for the Bengals
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn would not say which QB is going to start in Cincinnati, but the timing of the switch was based on how the game was going.
“We needed a spark at that time," Glenn told reporters after the game. "I felt it was the right time to do it."
Fields came into Sunday with 799 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions through five starts. Turnover-free football may look good at first glance, but Fields also ranked 30th out of 33 qualifying starters in EPA/play entering this weekend.
The Bengals have played against faced Fields twice, but he didn't start in either game. He came off the bench in his second-career game in 2021 to help the Chicago Bears defeat Cincinnati, 20-17. Last season, as Russell Wilson's backup for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Fields' seven-yard read option run sealed a 44-38 win over the Bengals.
Taylor has played six games against Cincinnati with the most recent game being five years ago. Taylor was the opening day starter for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020 and secured a tight 16-13 victory in Joe Burrow's first-ever game.
Burrow won't be facing either Fields or Taylor next week as he's still at least two months away from recovering from turf toe. Joe Flacco will face the team he started nine games for from 2020-22.
We'll find out in the coming days which QB he'll duel in Paycor Stadium.
